Deputy Director of Communication for the NPP, Samuel Awuku has slammed the London-based research group Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU); describing their report on the NNP�s election petition as �fufu based�.
Mr. Awuku challenged the credibility of the report since credibility of the country director is questionable.
�If the credibility of the Country Director is one that we cannot question, then the report can be credible. But if you have a country director who produces reports skewed in one direction then the person will obviously produce wrong information to the EIU.�
Mr. Awuku however said the NPP has a strong case and the battle is the Court.� I am very confident that before the year ends, Ghana should have a new leader and Ghana will have a new leader; we are not perturbed about his kind of �fufu based� report.�
The EIU in a recent report has said, the Supreme Court is likely to uphold the 2012 Presidential result, given what it described as the lack of evidence of systematic malpractice by the petitioners challenging the credibility of the elections.
Three leading members of the NPP including the 2012 presidential candidate of the party, Nana Akufo-Addo and two others have petitioned the Supreme Court challenging the results of the 2012 presidential elections.
Meanwhile a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal team, Abraham Amaliba has said the EIU group are entitled to their analysis and view.
According to him the NDC had already seen the collapse of the NPP�s case.� We have already seen the collapse of the appeal; the EIU group is only echoing or supporting the suspicion we [NDC] already have but we are not in the position to either rejoice over what they[EIU group] have said or to condemn them. They are entitled to their opinion.�
