Government has described as unfortunate the assertion by former Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, which sought to suggest that doctors and teachers are below the level of MPs. According to the Minister of Information and Media Relations �government holds Teachers, Doctors and in fact all Public Servants in equal measure of esteem. The success story of our Nation would be incomplete without the collective contributions of all in society.� The Minister appealed to all Public Service Workers to disregard the statements of the Former MP and continue to work closely with Government to achieve better conditions of service for the Ghanaian worker. �Hon. Mahama Ayariga further added that as part of Government�s belief in the equal importance of all Ghanaians to the development of our Nation, the Constitutional Review Commission has as part of its work, presented proposals for the streamlining of Article 71 Holders salaries and emoluments into the Single Spine Salary Structure. Maxwell Kofi Jumah which seeks to portray Teachers and Doctors as second class citizens. We find this most unfortunate. The Minister for Information & Media Relations stated emphatically that Government holds Teachers, Doctors and in fact all Public Servants in equal measure of esteem. The success story of our Nation would be incomplete without the collective contributions of all in society. Hon. In all of Government�s recent deliberations with Worker Unions in the past few weeks, Government has sought to achieve an atmosphere of mutual trust with the Unions. We would not countenance any unfortunate utterances which are not representative of Government�s opinions to derail the progress we have collectively chalked so far. The Minister appealed to all Public Service Workers to disregard the statements of the Former MP and continue to work closely with Government to achieve better conditions of service for the Ghanaian worker.
