Energy Minister Pledges Govt's Commitment To Ending Energy Crises

The Minister of Energy, Kofi Armah Boah has pledged government�s commitment to ending the energy crises the nation has over the months being plunged in. He expressed certainty that the perennial power fluctuations that have become the bane of the country will be dealt with imminently. The Minister speaking in an interview on Radio Gold on Monday explained the reasons for President John Mahama�s visit to the Western Region. According to him, the President�s visit to the Aboadze plant is an indication of his commitment to find lasting solutions to the energy problems by ensuring that the gas project in the nation is completed to augment the supply of gas to the energy providers.\ He was optimistic his (President Mahama) visit will change the energy situation as he makes frantic efforts to ensure the acceleration of work on the gas project. �The President�s focus is to ensure that we complete the gas from our own backyard, so that we can be independent; so to speak when it comes to the liquid that will power the electricity.� �It is very, very important that he�s also being aggressive in ensuring that the critical liquid; we know the challenges we are facing because of crude oil imports�very expensive and we know the solution is to get gas. If we are to increase generation, we must have gas solution. He (President Mahama) is going to the Ghana Gas Project to really make sure that that project is completed on time as well.�
