I Did Not Work For Nana Akufo-Addo - Dr. Sekou Nkrumah

Son of the first President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Sekou Nkrumah has stated that he has not betrayed the NPP. Speaking in an interview with Okay FM, he said he did not work for the main opposition NPP but made a choice to support them because he was not happy with the performance of the NDC government. He added that he supported the NPP and their candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo as a protest against the leadership of the NDC which performed unimpressively, stressing that though nothing has changed with the leadership of the NDC government, it is still the best option for him since as a social democrat the party offers the best platform to promote his philosophy. Speaking on Okay FM he said that his choice to support NPP was to send the NDC into opposition so that they could revise their notes, adding that since it did not happen the way he expected, he said he has advised himself to go back to rejoin to the NDC and not because he wants a position. In view of whether the NDC leadership is aware of his intention to rejoin the party, he said that he does not deal with the leadership but the ordinary members, because a political party is a mass party. Leadership comes and goes but the political party have its mass support and has its core value and if you belong to the party you have to promote the ideas of the party, he said. He reiterated that the NDC leadership is still not living up to expectation.
