A member of the Progressive People's Party, Charles Owusu has called on the President to personally beseech with the striking doctors to call off the strike and negotiate with them for their allowances to be paid on time. According to him, government�s delay tactics to hear the plight of doctors is having a robust impact on the less privilege who cannot afford private hospitals. �The less privilege will be the ones to suffer in this strike action. Because all the MPs �God forbid� if something happens to them can either afford a private hospital or fly out of the country for medical checkup. I think where this issue is trekking to will be worse. We must just plead with the doctors to amicably agree with government plans so this issue will be solved rather than fueling it with utterances that will agitate negotiations,� he said. Speaking on Peace FM morning show �Kokrokoo�, Charles Owusu disagrees with government�s initiative to use a whooping sum of money in Guinea fowl project as well as tree planting whiles teachers and doctors are crying for their allowances. �If government cannot pay both teachers and doctors but can raise funds to rear Guinea fowl, why won�t they (Teachers and Doctors) be furious and embark on a strike. Whiles the government is supposed to harmoniously come in terms with them to revert the strike, monies are been disbursed on other things which for now wouldn�t be the nation�s priority,� he said.
