Prez Mahama Must Sacrifice His Expenditure To The Suffering Labour Unions

In order to resolve the current protests in the country, the Communications Director of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Henry Asante has suggested to the Mahama-led government that they must accept that being in a leadership position is a responsibility and therefore sacrifice is the hallmark. He stressed that the President must find a way in the unbridled economic hardship to make sure that the labour unions are in a better condition while the leadership finds a way out to resolve the shortfalls in the economy. Commenting on the innumerable industrial strike actions by the labour unions, the PNC communicator said that those on strike are within their rights to address their legitimate concerns. He however proffered that the inducements for the labour unions must be considered in the budget and that it is the sure way to curtail the industrial actions against the government if President Mahama is ready to pay the outstanding amounts due to the aggrieved labour unions. To him, there seems to be industrial failure in the country as nothing has been done about the situations which have brought these inestimable actions calling on the Presidency to determine on the demands of the public working force. He therefore estimated that there must be a recommendation which will find a way to change something about the ex-gratia in Article 71 in the 1992 constitution.
