Jealousy Over Woman Drives Chinese To Assault Three Men

A Chinese who allegedly inflicted knife wounds on three of his compatriots on the suspicion that one of them was flirting with his fiance has been arrested by the Kumasi Police. The suspect, Huang Lian, alias Joshua, attacked Xiang Fuxing, Guo Xiujuax and He Huaguo at Santasi Anyinam, a suburb of Kumasi, resulting in the victims sustaining various degrees of injury. Guo is on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), while Xiang and He were treated at and discharged from the same facility. Corporal Godwin Ahianyo of the Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Department told the Daily Graphic that Huang worked as an interpreter with a Chinese company in Obuasi, while his Chinese girlfriend also worked with Xiangs company in Obuasi. He said some time ago the woman broke up with the suspect, which did not go down well with him. According to the facts, Huang threatened to kill the woman who, for fear of her life, abandoned their residence and sought refuge at her bosss residence at Santasi Anyinam. Corporal Ahianyo said all attempts by the suspect to trace the ladys whereabouts proved futile until April 14, 2013 when he succeeded in tracing her to Xiangs house at Santasi Anyinam. At 3 p.m. that day, Huang went to Xiangs house in search of the woman and met the three men, as well as the woman. When he accused Xiang of flirting with the woman, a misunderstanding ensued and, in the process, the suspect inflicted knife wounds on the three. They were rushed to KATH, where two were treated and discharged. Police investigations continue.
