Gen. Mosquito Behaves Like A Court Reporter

The General Secretaries of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia popularly known as Gen. Mosquito and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John, has recently come under a lot of criticism following remarks they have been giving about the proceedings at the Supreme Court. Many have accused them for talking to the media and misinforming the public of what happens at the Supreme Court since it started hearing the substantive case of the Election petition. Contributing to panel discussions on Kokrokoo with host Kwami Sefa-Kayi, Abu Ramadan, the National Youth Organizer of Peoples National Convention (PNC) insist that Sir John should not be compared to Gen. Mosquito because, it was the latter that started it all. It would be very unfair if you want to link Asiedu Nketia to Sir John and give them the same charge because Asiedu Nketia has been the one who has been giving commentaries on the case - he behaves like a court reporter, all this while, you dont hear Sir John he said. He alluded to the fact that Sir John just wanted to match up to Asiedu Nketias game and that was why he (Sir John) also started making comments; however, this is not to justify his utterances. I think the best way is for the media to stay away. They are not lawyers He advised the media to rather concentrate on the lawyers of the respondents and petitioners. The official lawyers the media can speak to is lawyer Gloria Akufo and Nana Ato Dadzie and so the questions should go to them; so that we can save ourselves this whole brouhaha and misrepresentations, he added.
