University of Ghana To Get Teaching Hospital

The Israeli Embassy in Ghana has made a commitment to build a 600-bed capacity teaching hospital facility at the University of Ghana. The facility will help alleviate the pressure on the Legon Hospital and will be a useful learning facility for medical students. The Israeli Ambassador Sharon Bar-Li indicated in an interview, at a ceremony to mark the 65years celebration of Israels Independence, that an Israeli Company will be responsible for the construction of the facility. The growing number of Israeli businessmen identified Ghana as a preferred investment destination and a gateway to their activities in West Africa. Enjoying Ghanas stability, democracy, development, fast growing economy and hospitality. In this context, I am greatly honoured by the fact that it is an Israeli company that will conduct the construction of a State-of-the-Art 600-bed teaching hospital at the University of Ghana. She stressed that: It is Israels leading bank which is financing this important project and Israels leading Sheeba Medical Centre which will train its staff and accompany them in the first years. Aside from the obvious benefits of having this project finally materialize, one should read in it a statement of confidence in our Ghanaian partners and in the Ghanaian stable and democratic political environment, she added.
