A member of the Communications team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC),Fred Abgenyo, has stated that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia�s appointment by the African Development Bank (AFDB) as the head of the Ugandan office reveals the NPP�s diabolical intent to foment tension and leave the country afterwards. According to the NDC man, the fact that Dr. Bawumia, the second petitioner in the on-going challenge of the 2012 election results, has not formally written to the AFDB Uganda to inform them of his inability to take up the post means he would be eventually going. �Because of the behaviour and utterances before, during and after the elections, the question most Ghanaians are asking is that, is it the intention of the NPP to just create tension in country after which they would pack bag and baggage, with their wives and children and exit the country leaving us behind to suffer,� he asked. Fred Agbenyo made this allegation in reaction to a Ghanaian Times publication on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 with headline, �BAWUMIA PICKS UP NEAR AFDB JOB� which indicates that the appointment was made last month. Dr. Magatte Wade, Head, External Relations and Communications of the head office in Tunis, confirmed the appointment to the paper and stated that the Former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (GoB) will be resident representative of the Bank in the Ugandan office. He is also to co-ordinate and supervise the operations of the Bank in the country�s office for the great portfolio efficiency and visibility on the ground. This would be the second time Dr. Bawumia would pick up appointment with the AFDB after unsuccessfully contesting to become Vice-President on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). However, Fred Abgenyo believes that all the contestations of the electoral results, the concession being made to the effect that by Dr. Bawumia in the witness box and his new appointment with the AFDB indicates that the NPP know they would not win and are therefore securing jobs before a conclusion is reached in the Supreme Court.
