Abuakwa North MP Honoured

The Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church has honoured the Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr J. B. Danquah-Adu, for his immense contributions toward the welfare of his constituents and the Methodist Church. In recognition of his services, the church, yesterday presented him with a plaque at its synod, which took place at the Wesley Chapel in Koforidua and during which 40 others, who also assisted the church, were mentioned. In his acceptance speech, Mr Danquah-Adu asked Ghanaians to consider themselves as one big tribe and unite for the development of the country. He said God created man to love one another, as such, ethnicity should not divide Ghanaians but rather spur us on to assist in improving the lot of the ordinary citizens. Mr Danquah-Adu pledged to continue to offer meaningful assistance to help uplift society. Earlier in a sermon, the Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church, Rt Reverend Michael Agyarkwa Bossman, who spoke on the theme Love one another, said God was after the welfare of mankind and as such, man should continue to do good. Basing his sermon on Hebrews chapter 6 verses 16-18, he said God had allowed Christians to be tempted to test their faith in Him but not to destroy them and the only way to withstand temptations was to go by the teachings of Jesus Christ. He, on behalf of the church, expressed his appreciation to Mr Danquah-Adu and all those who had assisted the church.
