We Dont Need Additional Security At The Supreme Court Judicial Secretary

The Judicial secretary of the Supreme Court Justice Alex B. Poku Acheampong has stated that the Supreme Court does not need additional security at the Supreme Court for the protection of the pink sheets submitted by the petitioners. We dont need any protection in the evenings. We are okay with the protection our own people are offering he said. National security operatives reportedly went to the court emanding the access to the registry in order to protect the pink sheets presented as evidence by the petitioners challenging the results of the 2012 presidential elections. This was after Chairman of the panel of judges, Justice William Atuguba issued a directive on Thursday that the pink sheets presented by the petitioners should be audited by an accounting firm, KPMG. Speaking on Citi FMs Eyewitness News news program Justice Alex B. Poku Acheampong stated although the police and the National security personnel have been present at the court premises all through the hearing of the election petition, their presence at the court on Thursday evening was out of the norm. It was extraordinary and out of the norm because the security provided during the day time when the case is being heard he said. According to him, there has never been an occasion when they come in the evening as they did come yesterday at about 18:30 pm saying that they want to protect the pink sheets. He indicated that the Supreme Court doesnt need additional security for the protection of the pink sheets at the Supreme Court.
