He would serve six months in prison with hard labour if he defaults in payment. Also, he would pay GHc24.00 to the complainant. Prosecuting, Police Inspector Fabian Sallah, told the court, presided over by Mr Yaw Atta Sampong that, the Catechist of the Presbyterian Church at Akim Abenase is the complainant, and lives in the same town with the convict. Inspector Sallah said the complainant, had for some time now, noticed that someone had been stealing the timber boards, parked in the new mission house and made an announcement to alert the public about it. On May 6, 2013 at about 0500 hours, the Catechist heard that Mensah had been arrested with some timber boards and when he went to the scene he identified the boards as the property of the church.
