A member of the communication team of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Charles Owusu, has called on the country's topmost security to close down the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN) at the Spintex road which belongs to Prophet T.B Joshua with immediate effect. �If the National Security is really working in this country, they should close down that church (SCOAN). We are talking about the loss of human lives; almost thirty (30) to forty (40) being seriously injured undergoing treatment in hospitals. National Security must close down that church immediately,� he said. Four believers of Prophet T.B Joshua�s miracles met their untimely death last Sunday when stampede occurred at Church service at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) branch at Spintex Road in Accra. The stampede happened when the huge congregation at the Church rushed for holy water from Prophet T. B Joshua. The man of God, Prophet TB Joshua had earlier announced the distribution of holy water during a Sunday service on the church�s worldwide station, Emmanuel TV. Thousands of people reportedly started arriving at the church premises from 8pm Saturday night and before the service could start on Sunday, there was a stampede due to the huge numbers at the venue. Even though the church requested security from the police, they did not anticipate such a massive crowd numbering about 45,000 and over. Speaking on an Accra-based Adom FM, though the PPP man wants the National Security to close down the church, he was quick to say he wouldn�t want to rubbish the integrity of the church as well as the source of power of the man of God. �I am not saying that his (T.B Joshua) church is not good. That is not what I am saying but what is going on in the church and the heavy traffic and inconveniences they are causing is really bad,� he said. �it is all because of the hardship Ghanaians are going through now that is the reason why these people rushed to the church to seek divine intervention�.
