Sir Bebaako Mensah Appointed First Envoy To The Vatican

The Former Secretary to Cabinet under the erstwhile Mills administration Sir James Bebaako Mensah has been sworn into office as Ghana�s first ever diplomatic envoy to the Vatican City. His appointment comes years after the late President Mills started the effort for Ghana to get a diplomatic representation at the Holy City. Administering the instrument of office President Mahama said he is optimistic Mr. Bebaako Mensah will give Ghana a better representation at the Vatican City. �As the first Ambassador being posted to the Vatican, I am sure that you won�t have any problems at all considering that you are a committed catholic and already been recognized by the Pope severally�. �You are held in quite high esteem in the Catholic Church so we couldn�t have found a better person to represent us� President Mahama said. For his part Mr. Bebaako Mensah said he will use his experience in government and his back ground as a catholic to draw educational and other diplomatic support to Ghana.
