Prove That Rampant Market Fires Are Result Of Arson Pratt

Seasoned journalist and Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has dared whoever claim some saboteurs are behind recent markets fire outbreaks to come out publicly and mention names of the wreckers. According to him, those attributing the fire outbreaks as malicious should prove before making such allegations since he believes market structures might have been the cause of the fires. Those saying the fire outbreaks are results of arson should prove to us. Some people are just home and talk anyhow to create confusion. All those saying arson just want to believe those in opposition are the brains behind the market fires. They cannot prove to what they are saying. I am saying that, there is no fact in what these acclaimers are saying, he stated. Speaking on Adom FM, Mr. Pratt said, one need not to be a prophet to know structures of the various markets can gut fire at any time looking at it conditions. He believes illegal connection of electricity might be a major problem which needs to be controlled as well as traders who operate chop bar within the market terrain. Nonetheless, outspoken Mr. Pratt has called for restructuring of various markets to modern ones so as to cease such disasters which is currently rampant. Whiles other countries are building modern market facilities, we are still using these old Yaa Asantewaa markets and even with that, that is where traders bring their gas stove and other flammable items to cook. Some have turned the market into their homes and bath there as well. Why wont the market burn? Some still live in the primitive age after all these while. Since Ghanas independence, we should have modified our markets by now. There should be hospitals in our markets for first aid care as well as even fire service offices there to attend to emergencies, he stated. He further cautioned individuals not to politicize any unfortunate situation since that will not help build a nation. Why must we point fingers whenever we experience such occurrences? Must we politicize everything? he quizzed. He rubbished government officials comments alleging arson in recent market fire outbreaks.
