I Am Related To Kevin Prince Boatengs Father - Y.B Djan

Kevin-Prince Boateng has rescinded his decision not play for Ghana and could have been part of the Black Stars for this months World Cup qualifiers but for injury, a leading member of the Ghana FA claims. The Germany-born star returned to the Black Stars last month after talks with several officials of the Ghana FA after his two-year absence from the Black Stars. But Yaw Boateng Djan has rejected reports that the Germany-born star has set conditions for his return to the Black Stars insisting the AC Milan star is committed to the country. According to the GFA member, the AC Milan midfielder rescinded his decision not to play international football last month and could have been part of the squad for the matches against Sudan and Lesotho. But a toe injury he suffered at the end of the season prevented him from being named by coach Kwesi Appiah for the two key World Cup qualifying matches. Gyan, who is a member of the Black Stars management committee, is a distant relative of the father of Kevin-Prince Boateng and had talks with the family resulting in Boatengs decision to return. Kevin Prince Boatengs father is my relative and we used talks with the father and the boy to convince him to return to the Black Stars, the Black Stars management committee member told Peace FM on Tuesday. In fact he could have returned earlier as he was being considered for this months matches but an injury prevented him from coming for the matches. However, the Black Stars management committee member rejected reports that he has asked the Ghana FA to pay for his own personal physio he will bring to the camp. I will be surprised if Kevin said that because in all the conversations we had none of this came up so I am really surprised, Djan said. Boateng quit the Ghana national team in November 2011 just a year after he had switched his nationality from German to the country of his father. Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah met with the AC Milan midfielder during his tour of Europe after his coaching programme with Manchester City and held fruitful discussions with the enforcer. Boatengs decision to meet up with Appiah gave hopes that Boateng could return to the fold after a two-year absence. The AC Milan star had also been giving hints of his return by congratulating the Black Stars on their victories since the start of the year. When the Black Stars defeated Sudan on Friday Boateng sent a congratulatory message to the team knowing he could have played in the match.
