Former National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Abayifaa Karbo has described the recent arrest of the Managing Director of SOHIN Security in the United States for drug trafficking as a �country-threatening� case which might have major implications on the country�s security measure. �If a security capo who also owns a security company at the airport has been busted for trafficking drugs, then this will have a huge security and political implications on the country. We are all shocked this could happen. We can never sweep under the carpet what has happened recently,� he said. Karbo seek to find out how the alleged heroin which was in possession of the security boss sneaked through the dense security at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) without been detected by security apparatus on board. �How was he (Solomon Adelaquaye) able to transport heroin? Heroin is not produced in Ghana. So if a car park security can meet a client with a lap top at the boarding section after going through all the security check point without anyone noticing, then it tells you how porous our security system at the airport is�. Though the Justice Department of the United States has revealed it will be pushing for the maximum sentence of life imprisonment for Solomon Adelaquaye, managing director of Sohin Security and his accomplices after they were busted in the U.S for drug trafficking, Anthony Karbo on Adom FM still calls for an enquiry by government here in Ghana as to how the drugs were transported from the airport. �It is good the Americans would want to prosecute him there. So what is our Narcotic Control Board (NACOB) telling us here in Ghana? We here in Ghana must also know and investigate the circumstances under which a car park security break into immigration, National Security and NACOB agents mounted check points and sneaked in heroin in a laptop. There are major problem and those problems must be looked at as soon as possible,� he advised.
