There Is Something Wrong With Us Anthropologist, Archeologist And Theologians Must Examine Us

Former Minister of State at the Interior under the Kufour-led government has posited that it was worthless on the part of our forefathers who died to liberate the continent from the oppressors hand; to have taken such move since the crop of leaders the continent has produced after their death, have woefully failed and taken the shine out of their struggle. Nana Obiri Boahen said it beats his imagination to see Africans running after retrogressing. He called on sociologists, archeologists, anthropologists and theologians to quickly come to our aid and assist us unravel the mystery that has kept us miles behind developed countries. He disclosed that even though most African countries claim to be independent, people living here would not hesitate to join a slave ship if one docked at our sea port. Speaking on Okay FM, Nana Obiri Boahen noted that when he sits back and analyzes the way elections have been held on the continent, he weeps for the entire sub-region. According to him, the mountain of alleged irregularities and malpractices associated with the 2012 elections that the petitioners are complaining and have filed a suit at the Supreme Court, clearly shows Ghana has a long way to go. Our forefathers who died to liberate us died for no reason. We (Ghana) are almost sixty years and we are trying to tell the whole world that we dont know our left from right? Excuse me to say this but in the Western countries, when it comes to counting even animals in a poultry farm, they are able to do it. It is only in Africa and Ghana that it takes us much time to count human beings. This is unbelievable, he added.
