419 Tricksters Caught By Police

Six men who employed a typical 419 tactics to defraud an American national of $180,000 have been arrested by the police. Davis Solomon Dasilver, 49, leader of the group, met the complainant, Chris Chandler, at Fiesta Royal Hotel and told him he was going to supply him with five kilograms of gold. The complainant offered Dasilver the amount in expectation of receiving the gold, but as the waiting period stretched, he lodged a complaint at the Accra Regional Police Headquarters. After several days of investigations and a search, Dasilver and his accomplices were arrested at a hotel in Tudu in Accra. The other suspects are Koyode Aki, 56, a businessman; Alhaji Adeshina Musah, 47, contractor; Adio Afolabi, 43, an estate agent ; Alhassan Aziz, 37, a carpenter - all Nigerians - and Ernest Kojo Tamakloe, 52, an estate agent. Theresa Debra and Tom Collins, who are accomplices, are said to be at large. Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Frank Adufati, Accra Regional Crime Officer, who confirmed the story to The Finder yesterday, said on Thursday, June 13 at about 2pm, Dasilver, Adio, Afolabi, Adeshina and Musa were arrested in a hotel at Tudu when they were busy drinking and sharing the booty. According to Chief Superintendent Adufati, on March 17, 2013 Dasilver, together with a Russian woman, met the complainant at Fiesta Royal Hotel and the two became friends. He said Dasilver introduced the Russian woman to the complainant as his wife. Dasilver, according to the police, told the complainant that his wife�s late father was a billionaire who died and left $500 million, 5kg of gold and other valuable items which were deposited at a security company in Togo. He said Dasilver approached the complainant that his wife needed someone to buy the five kilograms of gold and that he would be very happy if the complainant buys the gold. The complainant, who was convinced, agreed to buy the gold and suggested that he had a vault at Obuasi so he would transport the gold there after the deal. He added that Dasilver and his wife asked for 5% of the $500 million from the complainant as a security before they would hand over the gold to him.
