Hon. Okyere Agyekum extols the felicitous life of Martin Amidus braveness to have fought against corruption with an awe-inspiring outcome. Ghanaians really thank Mr. Martin Amidu. If we have his (Martin Amidu) type of person in very department or every Ministry, I think there wouldnt be any corruption in any government institution again in the history of Ghana. .We must pray to God to give us such kind of person with such an awesome character to fight crime and corruption. The Supreme Court on 14 June 2013 ordered Waterville Holdings Ltd. to return to the state 40 million it obtained illegally arising out of claims brought by the state in 2009. On similar issue, the Supreme Court again ordered Spanish energy company ISOFOTON SA to refund to the Government of Ghana the cedi equivalent of $325,472 it received as judgement debt. The Court's order followed arguments before by former Attorney General, Martin Amidu that neither Waterville nor businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome, who also obtained similar payments, had a valid contract with the state to warrant the payments. The nine judges in a unanimous decision ruled that the monies paid Waterville in the judgement debt scandal were illegal and must be refunded as well as ordering Isofoton to refund the monies paid to it by the government of Ghana plus interest.
