Ashanti Police Hunts For On The Run Shooter

The Ashanti regional Command of the Ghana Police service is currently searching for of a member of a Neighbourhood Watchdog who allegedly shot and killed a man in the early hours of Saturday. The victim was found dead at about 3am Saturday morning at the Amakom traffic light in Kumasi. Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Command, ASP Mohammed Tanko told Citi News that the police have begun investigations into the incident. He said despite the rise in killings in the region , it is still illegal for members of neighbourhood watchdog committees to use guns. �The neighbourhood watchdog committee is a concept and by law they are not suppose to use weapons; it is not justified for any neighbourhood guy to go about wielding weapons, it is illegal and that is the law as at now.�
