Ex-Hearts Defender Karim Alhassan Set To Sign For South African Side Leopards

South African top-flight side Black Leopards have pulled out a major coup by bringing in former Ghana youth international Karim Alhassan who is expected to sign at the end of the week. Alhassan arrived in the country this morning and immediately travelled to Polokwane where he will link up with Leopards and then start training tomorrow morning as they press on with preparations for life in the First Division. Kosta Papic, the Leopards coach, who is behind bringing the 22 year-old to the country confirms that the steady central defender is already in the country. Karim has arrived in the country and I just want to have a few days just to assess if he is still the same player that I coached at Hearts of Oak. I just need him to show me on the field that he can still do a job for me before he can be offered a contract, says Papic. Alhassan last played at Turkish second tier league club Adana Demirspor last season but also captained Hearts of Oak in his homeland and had a stint at Egyptian giants Zamalek. He has been capped at both Under-20 and the senior team for Ghana.
