Ga East Assembly retains MCE

Mr John Kwao Sackey, Ga East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), was on Wednesday confirmed for his second term by members of the Assembly. Polling 13 out of the 14 votes cast, Greater Accra Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Mr Alexander Poku Akubia announced Mr Sackey as the re-elected Chief Executive of the Ga East Assembly. Mr Sackey said the Assembly will continue to improve the living the conditions of the people in the area. He said: �We will ensure that the �Better Ghana Agenda� would be lifted to greater heights as President John Dramani Mahama promised in his campaign messages�. Mr Sackey said his election was a victory for Ga East and added that the Assembly would continue to focus on the development of education, sanitation and Health. He said the Assembly enjoys the cooperation of the chiefs in the area and appealed to all the staff and members of the Assembly to support the development of the area. Mr Isaac Vanderpuiye, Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, said Mr Sackey for the past four years had performed creditably in all the sectors in the development of the Municipality and expressed the hope that he would continue with the good work. He urged the staff, Assembly members to support the President and the MCE in order to attain the goal of the �Better Ghana Agenda�. Mr Edward Aryitey Aryee, Presiding Member of the Assembly, thanked the members for electing Sackey and called for the cooperation and unity among members and staff of the Assembly.
