Another French Test For Ghana's Black Satellites

France defeated Ghana 3-1 in the opening group match at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, hurting the Black Satellites' start to the competition and qualification from the first round. Fast-forward where they are now and it's a meeting of both sides again, this time, for a place in the final of the competition in Turkey. Ghana and France will clash in Bursa on Wednesday in the first semi-final match with either side chasing their own ambitions. The Black Satellites, 2009 World Champions are looking to lift the title for a second time while the French are angling for first final at this level. Unlike the French, Ghana's progress from the group stage to the knockout round came courtesy a better goal difference but Sellas Tetteh's side have grown in strength following their initial group stage struggles. Hard fought wins against Portugal, whom Ghana defeated 3-2 and a thrilling extra-time 4-3 triumph over Chile has been the order of the day for the Black Satellites. But Ebenezer Assifuah, who scored the winner in stoppage time of extra-time against Chile expects the Black Satellites to improve against France. "If we start believing we can allow ourselves to fall behind again, we'd be completely wrong. We've used up all our luck. There's no way we can keep on conceding goals and let our opponents take the lead. We can win the World Cup, but things have to change in terms of letting in goals," said the Ghana forward. Ghana will be without the suspended trio of captain Lawrence Lartey and his defensive partner Joseph Attamah as well as midfield Moses Odjer. For France, they will have almost every key man available for selection. "The more we've played together as a team, the better we've been. That's very important because we're going up against a strong Ghana side in the semi-finals," France striker Jean-Christophe Bahebeck said.
