Stop The Unnecessary Politicking - Hon. Avedzi Tells NPP MP

The continual lambasting of government to increase tax on commodities would not make any reasonable impact if the critics wouldn't offer any reasonable alternatives, Hon. Avedzi has observed. Hon. James Klutse Avedzi, who is the MP for Ketu North Constituency believes it would be better if members of the New Patriotic Party begun tackling issues from a national perspective devoid of the partisan approach they address issues with. He singled out an ex MP for the Ahafo Ano South constituency, Hon. Stephen Balado Manu and jabbed him for his harsh critic on governments decision to increase tax. The ex-NPP MP for Ahafo Ano constituency, claimed the government's plan to increase tax on commodities is an unwise one. But in an interview with OKAY FM, Hon. Avedzi fired a straight salvo to his former colleague and accused him of being insensitive. He stated that unlike the erstwhile Kufour administration that sold national assets to pay salaries, the NDC is trying to raise internal revenues by imposing certain tax measures. As a country, our needs are numerous and we are doing as much as possible to wean our hands off from the assistance that we are getting from foreign partners. That is why about ninety five percent of our total revenue this year is coming from domestic source. I think that we should not be dealing with people who think about politics but dont think about the economy, he said.
