2012 Election Register Stirs Controversy At Supreme Court Hearing

The register used for the 2012 General Elections Monday morning became a major subject of controversy at the Election Petition Hearing at the Supreme Court. Lead Counsel for Petitioners, Philip Addison, confronted the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Kodwo Afari-Gyan with the register given to the NPP. Mr. Addison sought to tender the register, but Dr. Afari Gyan doubted its authenticity. Mr. Addison suggested to him that the register was in PDF format which cannot be tempered with. The Judges had to rise earlier than usual to resolve the controversy.
