Hearts of Oak Goalkeeper McCarthy Returns To Action After 6-Month Absence

Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy has returned to training after six months of injury-induced absence. The Ghana goalkeeper returned to training on Thursday 11th July 2013 and was active at training giving hope that his injury situation was far and over. McCarthy stayed out of Hearts games for up to six months missing all games in the second round and part of the first round. Making his first appearance at training, McCarthy speaking to Hearts News has insisted that he has fully recovered from the finger injury and was hoping to enjoy a smooth pre-season campaign under Coach David Duncan. I stayed out for far too long because of the finger injury. But thank God I am back and training once again without any difficulties, McCarthy told Hearts News. I will manage my return well because I need to stay fit and ready for the pre season because I dont want to miss any of the off season programs. McCarthy who will be competing with Tetteh Luggard for the first choice position at the club next season is hoping to train hard to regain his reflexes to stand a good chance of walking back into the first team. The most important thing is to train hard and prepare myself for the pre-season. I have to stay fit and work on my reflexes to stand a chance of walking back into the team.
