Cease Vilifying Mensa Otabil Fmr NDC MP

He may have taken a sabbatical leave from mainstream politics since his voice is now seldom heard on radio, but former National Democratic Member of Parliament for Adentan Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Hon Kojo Adu Asare has found a new medium where he occasionally airs his views; Facebook. The former NDC MP waded into the Dr Mensa Otabil sensing of something ominous befalling Ghana media discussion voicing his disapproval with the vilification of the renowned man of God. It is the second time that the former Adentan MP has come out of what he terms a temporary break from media activities to contribute to issues of national moment. The former Law makers post comes on the back of condemnation of head pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), for calling on his congregation to pray for the country because he feels a sense evil befalling Ghana within the next one month. I have a sense of heaviness in my spirit concerning the destiny of this country that there is something heavy ready to fall upon this country that if we dont take charge of that we will be in a different state a month from now, Dr. Mesah Anamua Otabil stated in his sermon to the congregation at Christ Temple on Sunday July 14, 2013. Dr. Otabils statement is not the first from a man of God concerning what could happen in this country this year, particularly as a result of the verdict from the ongoing presidential petition in the Supreme Court. However, the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., stated in a panel discussion on Adom Fm on Thursday that, because pastors are human and therefore vulnerable to all ailments that befall mortals, it is sometimes difficult to tell the difference between a true prophecy by a man of God and when that person is suffering from high fever. According to him, the fact that one may be a renowned pastor does not insulate him for maladies because they are human; bound to fall ill once in a while. But without mentioning any name, Hon. Adu-Asare posted on facebook that, to be very honest, If this was my own big brother's reaction to Dr Otabil's prophecy then I beg to differ big bro....I believe we should concentrate more on the message than the messenger. He further noted that Its unfortunate that many a time when issues like these come up, we choose to focus on the individual involved than the message he is carrying. On his facebook wall, the former representative of the people of the Adentan Constituency wrote; This is Hon. Kojo Adu-Asare: To be very honest, If this was my own big brother's reaction to Dr Otabil's prophecy then I beg to differ big bro....I believe we should concentrate more on the message than the messenger. We may have our personal reservation about the man OTABIL but I'm not sure he is hallucinating or trying to veer into an arena he is not familiar with. The condition to that prophecy was that we (Ghanaians) should intensify our PRAYERS and call on God to save us. Dr Otabil is not the first Pastor to have prophesied in this direction, I have one such prophecy by a respected Prophet on record on my phone which was even published some two months plus ago in a newspaper. Its unfortunate that many a time when issues like these come up we choose to focus on the individual involved than the message he is carrying. A number of times we miss opportunities to make our own situation better by ignoring signs that are written boldly on the wall because we assume that b'cos the wall has not been white-washed, no important message can be posted on it. Indeed 'let he that has an ear, hear what the spirit is saying to the brethren'. Remember Noah was mocked when he cautioned that there was going to be a heavy rain: Remember the people of Sodom and Gomorrah even tried to Sodomized the angels who came to deliver the fire message to Lot. People of Christ, let us arise and PRAY for our nation for in the PEACE of our nation shall we have Peace and in the prosperity of our nation shall we prosper....Lets ARISE AND BUILD Ghana together.....Ghana is not for politicians ONLY .... if God can find 50 righteous people to pray for this nation, HE WILL SPARE GHANA......Ghana won't Burn under NDC ruler-ship, We will seek the face of God for deliverance....for those of you who have thrown salvos at the man of God who is just a messenger carrying God's message plleeaasse!!!!! E N O U G H......God bless Ghana, AMEN, the former Adenta posted on his fb wall.
