Our Tears For Prof. Mills Are Real, Stop Creating Jokes Out Of It - Koku Warns

As tomorrow marks the first anniversary of our former late President John Evans Atta Mills who died on July 24, 2012, after he was taken ill, the media has been cautioned to move away from crafting jokes out of the emotional tears sympathizers share during programs to eulogize him. Mr. Kuko Anyidoho, a former Communications Director under the former late president made this call on Okay FM when he was offered the platform to talk about preparations towards the one year celebration. According to him, from the inception of ex-president Mills one year anniversary, some particular newspaper outlets have made it a policy to always misrepresent what they see or hear. The painful side to the story is that such news items are printed on front-pages, Mr. Anyidoho observed. If Mrs. Naadu Mills (wife of the late former president) goes out to distribute Bibles, no one comes out to report on it or mention her husbands name. But when we organize an emotional choral festival and sympathizers shed tears, reporters take pictures and put it on their front-pages, he said.
