Every Move We Make, Every Step We Take, They Call It Political Favour

Playing the role of the referee could be regarded as one of the most tedious and difficult job to do. When there is trouble brewing in the nation, the first point of call would be our religious leaders. They are regarded as peacemakers in Ghana. But this reverence accorded them has not shielded them from receiving insults. Many are those who have made it a must to vilify our leaders on radio and the internet when their actions dont fall in line with what they expect. But fortunately for us, we have spiritual leaders who are not perturbed by the situation. Most Rev. Joseph Osei-Bonsu, President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference has stood out as one person not deterred by the insults. In an interview with Okay FM, the man of God stated that whenever religious leaders intervened to curtail a national problem, they were met with harsh comments. He claims that people were often quick to judge them by trying to guess which political party would benefit from the intervention. Most Rev. Joseph Osei-Bonsu says reading political meanings into every action would retard the nations growth.
