I Have Been Cited In GYEEDA Report For Wrong Reasons.......Abuga Pele

The former National Coordinator for Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneur Development Agency(GYEEDA) now Member of Parliament (MP) for Chiana Paga, Hon. Abuga Pele has disclosed that his name has been mentioned in the GYEEDA report for wrong reasons. According to him, though he cannot react specifically to details of the report as he has not had a copy to read himself, he can only answer questions on what he has heard or is circulating in the media. Speaking to Hello FM's King Edward this morning, he indicated that though he was sad about the commentary being run by some uninformed minds he is not bothered about the report but describes them as mere allegations. First, it is never true that I signed contracts I have not witnessed. Secondly, contracts go through a long process before they are submitted so the allegation of I signing contracts between 1st to 31st December is never true... I will also like to state clearly that, I resigned officially to contest for the Chiana Paga seat and that I only came back on the orders of the President who instructed us to still be at post after his official inauguration as President; after the demise of president Millsso I was not still at post for any fishy dealings, he stressed. Asked about why beneficiaries were been paid 50 Ghana Cedis and contractors taking 300 Ghana Cedis, he answered; that was a contract signed by Nana Akomea, the then sector minister for Employment and Social Welfare and the then NYEP coordinator and he only came to meet the arrangement when he took over as the coordinator. Hon. Abuga Pele who denied various allegations levelled against him in the report added that obviously he can understand that not everybody will like what he did: instituting investigations into alleged corrupt malpractices of some of his subordinates especially one who happens to be his immediate deputy, adding it is unacceptable to associate me with any mismanagement that occurred at GYEEDA.
