Ade Coker Fights NDC Tribal Politics

Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Joseph Ade Coker has warned his party members against the practice of tribal politics. According to him, engaging in tribalism especially in the upcoming delegates congress will endanger the party as well as its future. Ade Coker has come under fire as some members of his party are calling for the rejection of his candidature as the Greater Accra Regional Chairman in the upcoming congress. Ade Cokers critics are insisting that he (Ade Coker) is not an indigene of Accra hence, do not deserve to occupy that position. However, speaking on Peace FMs morning show Kokrokoo with host Kwami Sefa-Kayi, Ade Coker condemned such politicking, saying the party is made up of several tribes and if all of them are to leave what will be left of the party? If they want only the indigenes of Accra, are they only going to deal with the Gas? For me it is a non-starter which will amount at nothing. You should look at competencewhoever is pushing this agenda must quickly put a halt to it. For me I believe the good people in Greater Accra will look at my track record with them; what I have been able to dowe are all indigenes of Accra he intimated. Meanwhile, he has called for oneness in the party since being divided will not help. Ethnocentrism will hinder the progress of the party he added.
