The Premier League Board (PLB) has fixed Sunday September 15, as commencement date for the 2013/2014 season. The season to be preceded by the annual Top Four organised by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) is expected to end before the May 18, deadline set by global football federation, FIFA. FIFA has directed all national federations to end their respective seasons by May 18, to allow players a mandatory rest ahead of the 2014 World Cup fixed for Brazil next summer. The PLB and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have fixed September 1-11 as the duration for the Top Four competition regarded as a preseason tournament for the top four clubs. Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea, Medeama and Ebusua Dwarfs will compete for what could be their first trophy ahead of the season.
