Politicians Dazzle In Peace Gala

A football gala was held on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium in view of the Supreme Court ruling on the election petition. The gala saw teams constituted by leaders of the various political parties with a clarion call for all to accept the much awaited August 29 verdict of the election petition. The centre of attraction was the match between a select team of the various political parties against the ex-Black Stars, which the latter won 4-2. The political team had the likes Hassan Ayariga, flagbearer of the People�s National Convetion; Dr. Henry Lartey of the Great Consolidated People�s Party; Dr Abu Sakara of the Convention People�s Party; George Lawson, Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress; Titus Glover, Member of Parliament of Tema East and Akwasi Addae �Odike� of United Front Party. The ex-Blacks Stars featuring �dribbling magician� Mohammed Polo, Joseph Amarkwei, John Plange, Thomas Otenkorang, Sampson Lamptey, Ayitey Dormon amongst others proved too strong for the opponents even in �old age�. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Minister of Youth and Sports commended the participants and organizers for the massive support at the event aimed at promoting peace. The gala was organized by Pro-Image Communications towards promoting political tolerance, peace and unity after the Supreme Court's verdict.
