Good Start For Akaminko

Ghanaian international, Jerry Akaminko, had a brilliant start in the 2013/14 Turkish Super League when he helped his club Eskişehirspor to defeat boggey side, Bursaspor, 2-0 at home last week. Jerry, who played the full 90 minutes in last Sundays game, was a pillar in defence as he built a wall with his teammates to frustrate the visitors. Both goals, scored by Eskişehirspor were recorded in the second half when the home team took the game to their opponents and started attacking from all angles. The first goal, an own goal was recorded in the 75th minute, when a hard pressed defender, Renato Civelli, diverted the ball into the net with Bursaspors goalkeeper Sebastian Frey, completely stranded. The homesters increased the tally in the 79th minute through Henri Bienvenu who convertered a brilliant cross from Erkan Zengin at the right flank. Commenting on his performance in an interview with the Graphic Sports, Akaminko said he was more determined than ever to help his club win many trophies this season. While thanking God for the opportunity to play in one of the big leagues in Europe, Akaminko said his improved performance had emanated from the massive support he had enjoyed from the fans. I am very committed to the foward march of my team and hope the fans will continue to offer their support to me and my teammates as we strive to win major trophies in Turkey he noted. We have just started the season and I think our victory last Sunday against one of the strongest teams in Turkey was a very good start, he added.
