PC Appiah-Ofori Advises: Dont Allow Tsatsu To Cause Crisis In This Country

A senior member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Collins Appiah-Ofori has vehemently rubbished the lead counsel for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the just ended election petition case, Tsatsu Tsikata for his recent accusations. According to him, Mr. Tsikatas utterance was unfortunate and unacceptable knowing very well he is an intellectual lawyer who has practiced for long. The former Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa MP questioned why the former law lecturer did not also accuse the other panel-members since they were also politically appointed. Tsatsu Tsikata did not speak well. Who appointed Justice William AtugubaIs it the NDC or who? Why didnt he accuse all Judges appointed by ex-president Kufuor who heard the case as well? He should condemn the remaining Judges as well, he opined. Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, on Saturday, August 31 2013, accused Justice Anin-Yeboah, one of the nine Supreme Court Judges that heard the matter, of allowing his political bias to cloud his judgment. Mr. Tsikata claimed Justice Anin-Yeboah consistently took an opposing stance against the NDCs arguments and position as far as the case was concerned from the onset. According to him, he was not really surprised by Justice Anin-Yeboahs persistent and consistent opposition to the stance of the respondents because he was appointed to the Supreme Court by former President John Agyekum Kufuor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). But speaking on Asempa FM, the former NPP MP urged that Tsatsu Tsikatas accusation should not be treated with any seriousness. We should and have to avoid thisand not allow it to cause crisis in the country. I am just surprised about what he (Tsatsu Tsikata) is saying and he believes there is nothing wrong with it, he said.
