Two prominent chiefs in the Volta Region have congratulated President John Dramani Mahama for emerging victorious in the Supreme Court petition where his legitimacy was challenged.
Togbi Amenya Fiti, Daxo of Aflao and Togbui Sri III, Awoamefia of Anlo State, also praised Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for accepting the verdict and calling President Mahama to congratulate him.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Notsie, Togo, Togbi Amenya Fiti said: �Ghana was redefining democracy and rule of law for the world to emulate.�
He praised Nana Akufo-Addo for boldly rising up beyond political partisanship that doused all perceived tension and anchored national unity and cohesion.
Togbui Sri said leadership in Africa should take a cue from this development and soar above seeking parochial interests at the expense of the people.
He said peace was divine and a catalyst for development and anybody who promoted it should be recognised.
