GWCL To Address Perennial Water Problem By 2015

The completion of the Kpong Expanded Water Works and the construction of the Dodowa Water Reservoir by 2015 will address challenges facing the distribution of water in the Greater Accra Region. The PRO of the Ghana Water Company, Stanley Martey, gave the assurance in an interview with Radio Ghana. He said currently, the Kpong works is providing 36 million gallons of water for consumers. But the expansion works will improve the situation because more than 40 million gallons will be provided. Mr. Martey expressed fears about the unhygienic nature of some water tankers and doubts if routine cleaning of such tankers are undertaken.
