Allotey Jacobs Pounces On Ade Coker And Sir John, ...

Allotey Jacobs, Director of Communication for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region has cautioned General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwodwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John and Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC Mr. Joseph Ade Coker to be careful in their utterances because it can plunge their political parties into confusion and chaos. According to him there is no need to advertise or broadcast their candidates when they (candidates) have already gained popularity and there is no doubt about their candidacy; unless they choose not to contest. Sir John, even though Nana Akufo Addo has not made a concrete decision that he will be contesting the flagbearership position in the party, is strongly insistent that he (Nana) will contest at all cost; even if he (Nana) is in a wheel chair. Ade Coker on the other hand is alleged to have vowed to ensure that President Mahama goes unopposed when the party gets ready to contest the 2016 polls. Speaking on the issue, Allotey Jacobs told host Kwami Sefa-Kayi on the 'Kokrokoo Morning Show that What Ade Coker said can destroy the party if care is not takenwhen that happens, you create avenue for sycophants; that is what Ade Coker is doing. He said the right thing at the wrong time. NDC is focused; this issue should not come up at this time. If care is not taken, people might think it is because of his quest for a position; that is why he is towing that line It smacks sycophancy He said looking at how Sir John has been bashed for making those comments; Ade Coker should have known better than follow on the same tangent. On the part of Sir John, Allotey Jacobs said he (Sir John) is just clinging on Nana Akufo Addo and making those comments because he wants to maintain his position as the General Secretary of the party. It is like Nana is the air he breaths; adding even though what he said might be a speculation, he (Sir John) is giving room for it. If you want to go again and compete to maintain your position, do it alone; dont perch on someones ambition These two (Nana Addo and President Mahama) contestants; nobody can contest them in their political parties. It is a forgone conclusion. If only he (Nana Addo) will contest, he is far ahead of the other contestants in his party; unless he says he is not going to contest. When it comes to the NDC too John Mahama has shown the wayBut when it comes to the elections, Mahama will win again. We are keeping our guard to ensure that the promises made, he is able to achieve them, he indicated.
