Former National Youth Organiser of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bonfeh, also known as Kabila has strongly criticized politicians who have been embarking on a Thank You Tour.
He told Kwami Sefa-Kayi on Peace FMs Kokrokoo that he does not see why a thank you tour should be organized for a period of time purposely to thank supporters when there are other things to pay attention to (in the country).
Kabila was reacting to various Thank You Tours being embarked on by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the Supreme Courts final ruling on the election petition case.
The NPP organized Thank You meetings to thank core supporters for the various roles they played in the 2012 electioneering campaign and prayers they have offered on the partys behalf.
Thank you tour for what; I have a problem with that in principle. Why are you going to thank the person for voting or not voting for you? he queried.
He said politicians in general, should know when a political season is over and concentrate on other developmental issues instead of always engaging in politics throughout their lifetime.
We must give break to our politics. It seems like throughout our lives, everything we do borders on partisan politics, but that shouldnt be. We should bring other options than engaging in politics, politics, and politics he added.
