Member of Parliament (MP) for Obuasi East, Hon. Edward Eninn has advised 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo to be extremely careful about some elements in the party seeking his downfall. Though he did not mention names, the NPP MP was very assertive that some members in 2008 professed to backed Nana Addo's presidential bid, yet only squandered monies given to them to help campaign effectively; thus becoming obstacles to the 2012 presidential flagbearer's political dreams. According to him, the party has suffered two major electoral defeats and �instead of looking at the way forward for the party, some people are thinking of pushing Nana Addo for 2016�. �You can be popular in the party but not outside�there are some people who did not help Nana Addo in anyway; they came to milk Nana Addo and enrich themselves during the campaign period. I personally donated cash to Nana during the campaign period though he knows I was not in total support of his flagbearership for the 2012 elections, he told Hello FM's King Edward in an interview on Tuesday morning. According to him, during the 2008 Presidential run-off, he was one of the few MPs who managed to increased his constituency's first round votes for the presidential candidate significantly; whiles votes for the flagbearer in other constituencies dropped. To him, the only way the party can learn from it's mistakes and work on it to win subsequent elections is to �employ an Independent body to investigate and find out why we lost the 2012 election�. �all those party executives who have performed poorly should be booted out for new ones who are ready to work for the party to win power to take over, we are all going to be involved this time round and educate our electorates to vote for the right candidate not those who seem to be on one side and trying to push for some body's bid� Some things have not been going on well in the party and some of us this time are going to make sure that all those things will cease to bring sanity in the party�� he noted.
