NDCs Accusations Are Misplaced - Ex-Prez Kufuor

The office of former President John Kufuor has described as unfortunate, comments from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) after his call for electoral reforms in the country. The former President advocated for an external body to carry out necessary reforms within the electoral system for efficiency and transparency. The NDC however in a statement accused Mr. Kufour of stampeding the Electoral Commission by asking it to cede its powers to an external body. Speaking to Citi News, spokesperson for the former President, Frank Agyekum said the NDCs accusation is misplaced. He explained that the ex-President made that call he realized that for deep and proper reforms to be made, its better done from the outside than the inside." "So the call by President Kufuor is in the same direction and I think that the NDC's call is very much misplaced, he added. Mr. Agyekum further explained that an external body is needed to embark on the reforms because, some of the critical issues you may not feel very comfortable to confront themand so proper and deep reforms may not be done.
