Ms Helen Adjoa Ntoso, Eastern Regional Minister, says she would meet with telecommunication companies in the country on how best to make telecommunication accessible to the people at Boti, a tourism destination.
She said it is disgraceful and dangerous for one to visit a big tourism site like Boti Falls but could hardly make phone calls in case of emergency.
�I will meet with the telecommunication companies to mount some masts here so that we can have call reception in Boti,� she said.
Ms Ntoso was speaking at the opening of Kwame Nkrumah Guest house to the public as part of the Founder�s Day Celebration at Boti Falls in the Yilo Krobo Municipality.
She pledged to collaborate with the Regional Police Service to beef up security at the tourist site to ensure the safety of tourists.
Ms Ntoso urged the Municipal and District Assemblies to take advantage of the Public Private Partnership to develop tourist sites to rake in more funds for development.
Mr Richard Kilson, Manager of the Boti Falls, said at the beginning of next year, management would start the construction of a three-star 200-unit hotel facility to improve tourism at the site.
He decried the rampant felling of trees by illegal lumbers as well as the bad nature of the access road to the site.
Mr Kilson appealed to the Regional Coordinating Council to help reverse the situation.
Tourism at the Boti tourism site is being improved with the assistance of Kingdom Ventures, a private company, partnering with the assembly to develop the site.
