Assistant Headmaster Dies In Motor Accident

Mr Samuel Ewuah Bruce, Assistant Headmaster of Apam Senior High School, died on the spot at Gomoa Mprumem near Apam Junction on Wednesday afternoon, when an articulated truck collided with his vehicle. Mr Bruce was on his way to deliver scripts of candidates writing the West African School Certificate Examination when the accident occurred. Constable Samuel Ameleke and his friend, Mr Attah Boison, Secretary of the Apam branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union who were in the vehicle with Mr Bruce, sustained injuries and are on admission at the Winneba Government and Apam Saint Luke Catholic Hospitals respectively. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lawrence Lumor, Apam District Police Commander, said as had been the usual practice, examination questions are collected from the Winneba Centre for candidates to write at Apam and answer sheets sent back under police escort. DSP Lumor said the articulated truck, which was coming from Winneba, burst a tyre and collided with the vehicle of the deceased at Gomoa Mprumem, about two kilometres from the Apam Junction.
