Korle Bu Junior Nurses On Strike

Over 600 junior nurses at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital have laid down their tools in protest of nonpayment of their salaries and allowances for over 2 years. Speaking to Peace FMs reporter, Abeiku Kingsley, one of the nurses said what will make them go back to work is evidence that the money has been transferred into their accounts. We have made our request known to management but it seems like they are not listeningsome of us come from afar and even rent our own houses with the little money that we have and so you can imagine our difficulty especially when the money is keeping long, she indicated. The nurses who were clad in red bands were insistent that they will not go back to duty until their pleas are heard and also requested that President John Dramani Mahama intervene for the money to be paid. He should include us in his better Ghana Agenda since we are equally Ghanaians, one nurse said.
