Jonathan Mensah Out of Egypt Clash

The 23-year-old guardsman will be visiting the treatment room over the next six weeks and will therefore have no part to play in the crucial World Cup tie against Egypt. Evian defender Jonathan Mensah will not have any role to play in the Ghana Egypt 2014 World Cup qualifying play-off following an injury. The guardsman sustained an injury in their 1-1 draw game over the weekend against Bordeaux and had to be pulled out in the 46th minute. The 23-year-old rearguard will be out for six weeks. Results from tests on my injury reveals I will be out for 6 weeks. Bad timing but staying strong. Off for treatment! the Ghanaian tweeted. The development comes as a major blow to the Black Stars since their defence is already plagued by injuries in the persons of Isaac Vorsah and John Boye. Ghana are set to face off with the Pharaohs in the first-leg play-off on October 15 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
