GNFS Boss Must Resign Or Bite - Ogbamey Demands

Board Chairman of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Alhaji Amadu Sorogho, has been asked to crack the whip or resign. Alhaji Sorogho and the GNFS have been at the centre of a number of reports involving the purchase of sub-standard camouflage uniforms for its personnel. In an interview on Peace FM, Alhaji Sorogho said investigations are ongoing to find those involved in the contract and the purchase of the uniforms; adding when the reports are submitted those found culpable will be dealt with. However, in a panel discussion on Thursdays edition of Kokrokoo programme, Alfred Ogbamey, Managing editor of Gye Nyame Concord newspaper, said Alhaji Sorogho should come again. He does not understand why a whole Board chairman will sit down for such a shady contract to go on without being aware. According to him, even when he became aware, he should have dealt with the culprits immediately he needs to ask himself who has been punishedhow long does it take to make investigations. There are too many people making money in various shady contracts and going scot free. As the board chairman, this should not have happened in the first place and then you sit down and say you are investigating I understand him but either he should be willing to resign his office as board chairman for inefficiency or he should bite. If he is unwilling to bite, he should not expect us to accept it just like that he indicated.
