Mr. Ebenezer Asante has been appointed as the new CEO for MTN Rwanda.
Until his new appointment, Ebenezer Asante was the Sales and Distribution Executive for MTN Ghana, responsible for sales, distribution, trade marketing and channel management and design. He was also responsible for managing over 80 branches across the country.
Before joining MTN in 2008, Ebenezer Asante worked for 13 years with Unilever Ghana, where he held various positions including serving as Country Manager for Zambia in 2005 and Customer Development Director, responsible for sales and customer development strategy and execution in 2006.
In a statement announcing the appointment, MTN Group CEO Sifiso Dabengwa congratulated Ebenezer and said, �We know he will add tremendous value in his new role, not only to MTN Rwanda, but also to the MTN executive leadership team.�
He noted that with such experienced professionals on the team, MTN will continue to work at its vision of leading the delivery of a bold new digital world as well as deliver on her mission of making customers lives a whole lot brighter.
At a send-off party organised for him by staff of MTN Ghana, Mr. Asante expressed his profound appreciation to the entire staff population and especially the sales team who have supported him over the years and long servicing staff for their dedication to the brand.
He said, �I can assure you that your overwhelming goodwill and its significance will not be lost on my personal and professional considerations in Rwanda and beyond.� �I can only be because you are, keep soldiering on," he added.
Ebenezer Asante holds a BA degree (Hons) in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Henley Management College, and was part of MTN�s Global Advancement Programme (GAP) in 2010.
Ebenezer Asante�s appointment as the new Chief Executive Officer of MTN Rwanda adds to the number of MTN Ghana staff currently on expatriation and secondments to key roles in other MTN operating companies.
These include Clement Asante, Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Zambia; Shaibu Haruna, Sales and Distribution Executive, MTN Uganda; Sam Adjei Sah, MTN Uganda, Sakyi Opoku, MTN Rwanda, Kingsley Konadu MTN Group and several others in South Africa.
