Ghana Must Not Be Swollen Headed Despite Good Show Stephen Appiah

The former captain of the Black Stars, Stephen Appiah says the team should not be swollen headed because it had scored six times against Egypt in a recent World Cup qualifier in Kumasi. He told Kumasi-based Angel FM that Ghana has not qualified for the World Cup despite the big win, warning that the Black Stars have to show the same focus and determination in the second leg next month. We should not be swollen headed. We have not qualified simply because we have beaten Egypt 6-1. Anything can happen in the second leg so we are not in Brazil yet. The Black Stars should show the same focus and determination in the second leg. If we put in 100% percent in Kumasi, we must put in 120% for the second leg.he said Appiah, who captained Ghana at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, also told Angel FM that he was impressed with the performance of central defensive duo Jerry Akaminko and Rashid Sumaila, adding that the performance of his ex-teammates Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien also delighted him. I was impressed with Jerry Akaminko and Rashid Sumaila because they were playing because of injuries to other players. I saw no flaws in the game and I was also delighted with the performance of my old team-mates Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari. Both players dictated the pace of the game and they did very well. the former Udinese player added The former Black Stars captain commended head coach Kwasi Appiah for setting out the team to play with tactical discipline, adding that he was surprised at the way Ghana played on the day. He remarked that Ghana always comes to the table against big teams but find it tougher against so-called smaller teams, noting that he is confident that the Black Stars will qualify for Brazil after playing their part. I am confident that we will qualify for Brazil because we have done our part. I dont know what Kwasi Appiah said to the players, but in terms of tactical discipline, we were perfect. I was shocked at the way the players played and it was very good" "I remember saying earlier that when we play against teams like Lesotho, Uganda and Ethiopia, we find it difficult but games against top teams like Nigeria, Cote DIvoire tend to be easier for us. I must confess though that I never expected such a performance against a top team like Egypt. Appiah concluded
